George James Crawford

Passed away on November 19, 2024

George James Crawford

George James Crawford, 62, passed away November 19, 2024, at his home in Griffin, GA.  He was born on January 18, 1962, in Savannah, GA to the late Walter Michael Crawford, Sr. and Dorothy Coleman Crawford.  George graduated from Benedictine Military School in 1980, then attended Westpoint for two years.  He also attended Armstrong State College, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art, and graduated as Valedictorian from SCAD in 1990 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration.  George then went on to work in the art field in several places, to include Atlanta, GA where he worked in Graphic Design, and Electrical Modeling at Allison Smith of Atlanta.

George was an active and proud member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, serving at Lt. Commander North of Georgia.  He was also a member of the IBEW, Local 508.

Surviving is his twin brother, Edward Coleman Crawford of Jacksonville, FL, sister, Linda Crawford Stelianos of Savannah, sister, Andrea Gregg (John) of Jacksonville, FL, and brother, Walter Michael Crawford, Jr. (Debbie) of Savannah, and numerous nieces, great-nieces, and great-nephews. 

Visitation will be Friday, December 13, 2024 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., at Fox & Weeks, Hodgson Chapel.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

Burial will follow in the Catholic Cemetery.

George was a great friend and dedicated officer in the Georgia Division Sons of Confederate Veterans. He loved the South, his proud military history and his Ancestors. He will be greatly missed by the men in the Sons of Confederate Veterans and Mechanized Cavalry.
